The thing I found hardest was to make the Taonga the right size. I found it easy to shape the clay. I enjoyed this activity.
WAIT write an acrostic poem.
First we read a non-fiction book about bats. it helped us think of ideas for our poem. We had a discussion with our teacher about what we were going to make.
Secondly we started writing a draft copy of our bat poem into our writing book. Once we had written it we had to edit it and check for spelling mistakes.
After we had written our draft poem we were given our art paper which we folded a litte at the top and bottom to show us the center of the page to line up the head and tail of our bat. We drew our bats in pencil and outlined in black crayon. Then we wrote our poems in the center of our bats before coloured our bats in.
I enjoyed making the teeth on my bat i made then look scary.
I found it challenging to draw the bats eyes.
Next time I would make my bats tail a bit bigger.
